AIMA Lifesaver event
We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the 2024 FIMA Lifesaver event, held across several provinces in Afghanistan, organized by the Afghanistan Islamic Medical Association (AIMA). With the grace of God, we were able to conduct these training sessions with the participation of trained volunteers who completed a comprehensive Training of Trainers (TOT) program in Kabul.
A total of 1,050 participants, including 360 females trained by the AIMA Women Wing (AWW), attended the events held in mosques and madrasas. The remaining 750 participants received training in Kabul, Herat, and Nangarhar provinces. During the sessions, participants were educated about the causes of cardiac arrest, its risk factors, where it may occur, and the critical importance of CPR. The practical training included demonstrations on mannequins to show how to recognize cardiac arrest, perform hands-only CPR, manage choking cases using the Heimlich maneuver, resuscitate choking children, and place unconscious individuals in the recovery position.
Participants expressed their gratitude for this educational initiative, as they gained essential life-saving skills. They engaged actively during the lectures, asked numerous questions, and participated enthusiastically in the practical exercises.
We are proud of what has been achieved and look forward to organizing more such successful events in the future, God willing.
